Raised in Pentecostal church settings as a P.K. (preachers kid) and then converting to Torah observing could be a recipe for cognitive dissonance. Just as your traditional beliefs can parade a raised flag, so can the scripture you now have come to love and know bring questions. Its a journey and a Kingdom Destination.
The Sunday church preacher taught on faith. He inferenced the idea that there where stages, three to be precise and continued to say that we know the beginning, we know the end, but what happens in the middle? Continuing on, he mentioned a few questions pertaining to spiritual growth as the middle. Every time I think of this memory, the narrator in my head says, “Music director enters stage left, prayer and that’s a wrap.” Leaving church that morning, my confidence reinforced in Torah studies as the vagueness of the middle opened a plethora of rambling thoughts. Well there are the Sabbaths, New Moons, Feasts and all the preparation, operations and ensuring you are doing what God has instructed in his word for us to do. All of it every day requires faith and walking with God.
The more Torah that is ingested the more the understanding is that this is for today. And we are in a rehearsal. We are preparing specifically for the King with His Kingdom to return. How do we prepare. We hide Gods word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him and we teach others to do the same. That scripture may sound simple but is a lifetime and way more of a process than we even know. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and we walk in faith. Then there is living out the faith, walking the faith, being obedient to Gods plans by faith!
